6/28/04 Here is another tidbit - there will be seven men and six women. 6/27/04 Ok - time for some updates - although again there isn't a whole lot to report even less than 2 weeks before the show begins.
Julie hints in her interview that the veto will be different - and that she thinks this year it will be an advantage to be "honest" instead of sneaky. She said they activly are trying to set it up so that the houseguests can not try to out-guess them. She also says they the
"worst" bed will be really bad thie year - but unless they change the rules
the "worst" bed has never really been a factor.
6/11/04 There be rumors about that there will be no "Golden Veto" this year - I'll post anything I get confirming this asap. :) Meanwhile if you haven't checked out my other BB pages.... Brandon Showalter from BB4 posted a great story about how he tried to sneak a call into his girlfriend and why he was kicked off before the show began. 6/2/04 Do you want to save the Big Brother Countdown Timer to your local computer? "hush hush" about Big Brother. If you haven't been cast don't
expect to be - and if you HAVE been cast - you won't be reading this -
chances are you are sequestered in a hotel somewhere in LA or soon will
be!!
5/25/04 Nothing new to report - with the exception that I have exchanged messages with the production company and CBS and both contacts said there is no news at this time. 5/18/04 Another e-mail today from someone that said they were a semi-finalist - they had not been called back yet but were still hopeful. Its getting down to the wire - if they do what they did last year, they will be getting ready to sequester people within the next few weeks. Thats the time last year that Brandon Showalter contacted his girlfriend and was disqualified before the show ever began. It is still possible to
still make the show at this point, as I recall Josh from BB3 was 'recruited'
while working as a waiter at Dodger Stadium only a few weeks before the
show began. But that is the difference - the late-comers are
usually recruited, or 'discovered' - they didn't apply on their own.
5/14/04 I can't confirm this - but I did receive an e-mail from someone who said they were a semi-finalist. They said that contestants going to LA for further interviews would find out by this Satuday.
4/7/04 Another open call posted - this one is tommorow. For some reason the LA call (4/9) is not listed anymore (it was later re-listed).

4/2/04 Tentative start date for Big Brother 5 is July 6th (Tuesday) - the show will also air on Thursdays and Saturdays. As a side note, Alison from BB4 will compete alongside her boyfriend Donny on Amazing Race. More open Casting call dates:
3/27/04 - Open casting call this Tuesday in Boston - "If you think you have what it takes to be part of the show, there is an open casting call from 6 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30 at the CBS4 studios, 1170 Soldiers Field Road, Boston. 3/22/04 - The "Official" casting deadline now seems to be 4/9/04 based on several things I have read (besides the post below). Zap2it article on the casting

Both list the deadline
as 4/9/04 (Good Friday).
3/12/04 - Open Casting Call Announcement:
3/4/04 Just saw the 1st Big Brother Five TV ad tonight telling people to apply at cbs.com. It was just a 10 second ad during Survivor. According to the application Semi-finalist interviews will be held during May and/or June 2004 and CBS will post the deadline for any applications on the official website at least 10 days in advance. Currently I have no additional information on Big Brother 5 - please check back soon or feel free to visit the pages I have created for the previous editions of Big Brother.
