9/20/05 An in-person account of the final show.  Recent Articles:

"Seamonkey" (not her real name) - is a member and moderator like myself over at TVClubhouse - she was lucky enough to attend the live show last night.  Here is a portion of her comments after returning home (used with permission of course).

(picking the story up just as she and her friend "Grammy" arrived... I have edited it a bit just removing stuff that non "TVCH" members might not get)

So.. a few of us get laminated cards with numbers. I get 9, Grammy gets 8, Bzbee gets 10, I think. Later, Justin gets something like 24. Meanwhile we see large numbers of people with wristbands. We soon deduce that WRISTBAND = GOOD while LAMINATED CARD = NOT SO GOOD. Also Grammy was told that they might just call us in random order, IF we are called. You might have come with someone, they get in, you don't. Eventually someone who knows announces that the wristband people all have seats. We talked to some of them and they knew producers, stuff like that.

We are told the laminated card people may have seats but they have to determine who of the ex houseguest and other people with assigned seats actually are there. So we probably will get in.

Meanwhile we see Jack and his wife go by in a golf cart.  We did get his attention and wave like mad and he flashed a smile and waved back. We saw Will and some others.

Then a long black limo pulled up and among those who got out were the Correderos, Ivette's mom and dad (maybe someone else?) and Ivette's partner Maggie. Since I've been in the Ivette group where Maggie posts and have gotten to know her and greatly admire her,  so we recognized each other and I got a nice hug. She's really a lovely woman. Ivette is fortunate.

So, more standing, some free water in bottles, which most of us were saving for later.. bathroom breaks. Then the wristband people were led off toward the studiio. Eventually WE were also counted and they said okay, all of you come along. We got to walk past various bungalows and some street sets. I forget the show, not one I watch. Anyway, lots of jockeying in line and then they asked for ONE person.. ACK.. one person was lead off. Meanwhile we were told no food or water, and had to throw away the water bottles.. we did see Will and Marvin, Jason and Drew as they went in, and again, Jack and his lovely wife Pat.

Then they led us all in and started telling us "where to go". Grammy and I got to climb high up on the left side (as you face the two sections of seats on risers). There were also vip seats in the middle, people who got to high five the jury and others when they came out. We were in the very last row and it was very hot up there because we were right under a big light. Good view though. We also managed to snag one of the signs that BB handed out. Ours said something like Janie you Cupcake, wihch included a cupcake drawing . People also wanted the Howie signs and people in front of us got a Spicy Latina sign with a pepper. The people who got the "Mommy, Mommy, I want a Janie Doll" sign gave it to Janie's mom, who was in our section along with Janie's friend Eric, Howie's sister and father, April's husband, Matt, and, it seems, Jenny's Dan. Perhaps others. No one wanted to hold the sign for Maggie. I don't know where that ended up.

Maggie's and Ivette's families were in the other set of risers down low, since they later got to come up to greet their daughters, partners.

We got some coaching on being nice, not booing, when we should stand and clap, or sit and clap, or hold up posters, The woman who was running countdowns and directing Julie Chen and us used a telescoping light saber to direct us.

So with some practice, it was time for Julie Chen to come out.. she had a smock on and joked that we got to see her get dressed. She had her hair done thre (really needs to be shaped and trimmed, and it caused some problems and the hair people had to keep fussing with it during breaks). Julie, as usual, looked lovely.

The set was completely different than last year and much less natural.  (Note  - "Seamonkey" was also lucky enough to see the final show for BB5 as well)

Last year we had bleachers between Front of the House and Julie's studio. We were outside in the sun and could only watch the jury proceedings on a screen because they were inside the studio.

This year the area between the front door and the "studio" was very "back stage".. in fact I guess the Julie studio was either behind a wall or had been completely removed. We were inside, so no sun in our eyes.

The show started. We saw it all and everything happened right in front of us, except the parts when Maggie and Ivette were still inside the house in the two chairs; that we saw on the screens. There were maybe 8 monitors, maybe 10. However often when they had video running that you were seeing, we were getting instructions so we couldn't hear everything.

Eventually they brought out the seven jury members.. applause for all, but greater for James, Howie and Janie.. Janie got thunderous applause! We watched them give their speeches and put the keys in the box. Lots of tension!

I think the crowd was pretty disappointed by the outcome. I was upset with Howie but then I had to think that Ivette had given such a mean goodbye video to Rachel and it WAS right for Howie to support his partner. Beau supported Ivette to the end and I was sad when I saw that Beau was pushed aside so Eric could give the first hug to Ivette (after doing the same for his partner, Maggie).

The crowd also cheered much more for Michael and Sarah and especially Kaysar among the non jury members. Ashlea, who was pretty much ignored, is a lovely girl.

There was some booing when Eric made his speech. We were chastized for that later, and it wasn't all of us but it was heartfelt.

It was so nice seeing James and Sarah finally getting to hug. Very sweet. During commercial break, Michael and Janie finally got to hug!! The crowd approved..

Almost anticlimatic when Maggie walked out as winner and even moreso for Ivette. I would have liked to have seen their families greet them first, but that wasn't how it went. Eric hogged the spotlight each time. It was nice seeing the greetings finally when the families were allowed to approach. Also the jury members were probably blinded by lights so when each finally saw family, that was nice. April was very excited to see Matt. I didn't observe when they finally got to hug, though. Howie and Janie were very excited to see their family members too. Jenny waved to Dan. Hmm, I don't know where Rachels' family was, or if they were there.

We had to stay in our seats until lots of pictures were taken, but it was fun to see that, even though we were behind the pictures.

At the end Grammy suggested that we give the poster we had to Janie's mom and after a bit of resistance I realized that it was the best thing to do. So I printed TVCH LOVES JEDI JANIE and http://www.tvclubhouse.com and then Grammy and I signed the poster. Gave it to Janie's mom and friend Eric along with a devil duck.

Then we came out of the studio and immediately appreciated the cool evening air! It had been so humid and warm earlier and then the studio was cool but in the top row under that lilght, we were baking! So we walked back to the garage and out to the street and marvelled at what a good time we had. Not so much the outcome, but being around other people who love this Big Brother thing, love it times SIX. Earlier they asked how many of us have watched since BB1 and there was a good showing of hands. And quite a few were watching their first season. They didn't ask, but there was another category: the friend who came along to support their BB loving friend. Most of these people were good friends and had no idea what it was about.

The preceeding was just one lil part of my thoughts on Big Brother 6 - Click here to see my BB6 Main Page - Which contains a lot more information that has not been shown on the TV show yet - so don't go there unless you want to know things in advance.
