According to Variety magazine, we will get to vote from 20 contestants and the top three male and female vote-getters will be locked for the Big Brother house.  Producers will choose six more for a total of 12 guests this year.

The reason viewers will only get to choose half the contestants is so that the producers can make sure there is a balance in types of players in the house according to show co-producer Allison Grodner who was interviewed for the article.

The article states that all 20 potential houseguests will gather outside the Big Brother house on July 6th on live TV for the announcement of the final 12.
Even though that is how it is being reported, my guess is the contestants will tape the bit so that the winners can enter the house and Big Brother can get a couple days of tape before the first official show.  This is how it has been done for seasons 2-6.

So tune in to CBS on June 21st at 8pm to see which 20 former house guests we will get to choose from from all previous 6 seasons of Big Brother.  Don’t be surprised if your personal favorite is not among the 20, there have been 74 houseguests over the last six years.

CBS teased the BB announcement show on June 21st.  So like an idiot I watched the commercial frame by frame – here is EVERY former HG I made out (24 in all)….  Mike “Boogie” (BB2), Sheryl (BB2), Nicole (BB2), Marcellas (BB3), Diane (BB5),
Jase (BB5), Jun (BB4), Holly (BB5), James (BB6), Erika (BB4), Howie (BB6), Michael (BB6), Janelle (BB6), Ivette (BB6), George (BB1), Bunky (BB2), Monica (BB2), Ashlea (BB6), Scott (BB5), Will (BB5), Lori (BB5), Shannon (BB2), Will (BB2),  Danielle (BB3).Its amazing to see that and start thinking… wait, where is Josh (either of them), Allison, Hardy, Kent, Eddie, etc etc etc….

Here is a run-down of every season’s contestants…. (bold names were in the first commercial).

Just announced – CBS will be revealing the 20 candidates for Big Brother 7 on Wednesday, June 21st.   A portion of the announcement follows……

“…viewers will vote on which former HouseGuests will compete……… On CBS Wednesday, June 21 at 8PM ET/PT, Julie Chen will unveil the top 20 candidates from seasons past. Web voting opens ….. after the show at midnight ET/9PM PT. The polls close Wednesday, June 28 at 11:59PM ET/8:59PM PT.”

“All 20 candidates will be present when Julie Chen announces the ALL-STARS HouseGuests on the season premiere, Thursday, July 6 at 8PM ET/PT. “

So there ya go… in just over a month we will find out who we get to choose from in a “Web Vote”  – be prepared to stuff the ballot because I can’t see CBS coming up with a way to prevent people from voting more than once unless they require you to enter a new email addy each time – and even that method is not too tough to get around to the right person.

I am surprised they didn’t use a phone vote – I guess their pockets aren’t as deep as Fox’s or else they just couldn’t justify it.

No matter how things turn out we should have a pretty good idea who will be going in the house when the show begins on July 6th (actually it will probably start a few days early so they can get some footage for the first episode.)

Names being tossed around as possibilities include several members from last season (Kaysar, Janelle, Howie), previous winners (Will Kirby from season two and Eddie from Season one) and many of the other folks you may recall.

5/11/06 I’m still not happy about this “All Star” thing.  But as Bunny (Ya know – from Bitobunny.com) said, it is better than no Big Brother.

Yeah… time for me to dust off the Big Brother area and start posting my thoughts on who will be on and what to expect.  Stay tuned and thanks for coming back – I plan on keeping this area of the site as up to date as all the other years!!!
