Perhaps this is Janelle’s Big Daddy – Info on Ross Verba

August 17th, 2006

UPDATE 8/19: Janelle just said that her boyfriend’s birthday is October 31st. That is also Ross Verba’s Birthday.

Yesterday I wrote a post speculating on the possibility that new Miami Dolphin’s team member Dan “Big Daddy” Wilkinson might be the “Big Daddy” Janelle refers to.

It seemed plausible, Wilkinson is 33 (the age Janelle gave of her boyfriend), just was released from the Detroit Lions (Janelle had mentioned a Detroit connection), and is nicknamed “Big Daddy.” Not to mention the fact that he just signed with Miami.

Joker’s Updates, a popular Big Brother message board, had a discussion on the issue and someone claiming to her a close friend said that Wilkinson is not the “Big Daddy” to whom she refers. Another member cited a post on yet another message board from this past June that claimed Janelle’s boyfriend was Detroit Lion’s player Ross Verba.

While lacking the Miami connection and the public nickname, Verba does meet a couple of the things Janelle has said about her mystery b/f. He plays in Detroit and is 32 years old (Maybe Janelle was off by a year).

I did a little digging and here is some info on Ross Verba.

Picture and info from ESPN.com

According to this page, Verba has been seen partying with Paris Hilton in the past, and was a Christian missionary when he first came into the league. He just signed a 4 million dollar with the Lions but didn’t play in 2005.

So there ya go, unless I see something different I guess that might be Janelle’s “Big Daddy” – I am sure we will find out sooner or later.

I’ll be watching and re-capping the live show on this page once it begins. Until then check out my main Big Brother All Star page for updates if you don’t mind getting ’spoiled.’
