August 11th, 2006 - Food Competition.
Yup - looks like it will be shown on the feeds. Flames at the moment but earlier we saw the HGS as Janelle announced thing. “Cook Off” - not an ordinary contest - must include a special ingredient in every dish. The special ingredient is slop. My guess is that the Judges (former hgs) will judge the results. They will create a dish for each day of the week. One hour to prepare the dishes. George and Marcellas do not have to compete but they can help. Marcellas has the slop pass and George is on slop no matter what. |

Once they are done they will be judged by 3 judges (former HGs for sure - but they are not told). I think each judge judges for a specific catagory and scores it on a scale of 1-5.
10 or higher - they get regular food - 9 or less - slop for that day of the week.
If a dish gets all 5’s (15) - then they win a BBQ.

Back to FLAMES.
It is back - what I have picked up so far is that Will and George are working on cupcakes…. I think I see an easy bake oven too.
Will just said the dishes have to have at least 50% Slop.
Apparently they are making mostly desserts.
Danielle remarks it is like Iron Chef.
Janelle is making waffles.
So they will need seven total dishes I think. I sure hope they show the judging….
Danielle says she is going to make something like Crab Cakes called “Slop Cakes” - oh wait - Janelle used the only eggs for the waffles……
Someone has suggested making 9 items I think in case a couple turn out bad. It is a very chatty/busy competition - more general talk - the important/fun part will be the judging.
OOps - they found more eggs…. ok - I am going to just watch for now - they are all busy making stuff but writing about it seems pointless. I will post about the judging when it starts - probably around 12:45pm or 1pm BB time.
Danielle asks what is being made and this is what was shouted out…..
Cakes, Slop Cakes, Mexican Dish, Waffles, Cup Cakes
They will need to come up with a couple more…… Erika is going to make some type of alfredo sauce.
Danielle says they have about 35 minutes to go.
George has voluntared to sample everything (smart man since he is on slop otherwise).
Another Dish being made is “applecrisp.”
Here are a couple of dishes in the works…
Seventh dish is sounds like - some kinda ‘burrito slop.’
They have tasted the Alfredo and the “Slop Cakes” and they say they taste good.
12:35pm I think they are finishing up - labelling the dishes and preparing them for judging.
Will is overacting for the camera - sayng he won’t make the dish in time (he says it will be fine really).
A Couple more dishes.
Marcellas keeps telling everyone to whipe their plates. Mike wants to order the dishes to that similar items are side by side so they don’t go from sweet to sour.
Janelle is convinced the waffle will win them the BBQ.
They have now brought everything outside - I imagine the judges will be entering any second. Right now I just see flames…..
12:56pm Still flames - I am hoping they will not completley black out the former HG’s appearances.
1pm Nicole (BB2), Marvin (BB5) and Jun (BB4) are judging.
Jun and Nicole sample the Slop Cakes. They like the sauce but it has a high ‘chew factor.’
The HGs are locked away while the judges judge - they are yelling from the living room - I think they can see them on the TV in the living room.
They are having a lot of fun - making fun of the dishes - yelling from the living room. It is nice to see these three - Nicole is looking great.
Nicole is talking to the camera a lot. They are on the last item - the Waffles… Marvin says it doesn’t taste like there is enough slop in it. Nicole (who I recall is a chef) has a lot of comments and of course Jun was considerred the cook for her season has a lot of comments too - this should be fun to watch on the show.
I think they are all done now - we have flames - it will be a while before the votes are tallied and revealed. That was fun!
1:30pm Still Flames.
2:25pm The feeds are back but the Hgs are still wearing the outfits. But someone just said “I’m glad we got the food.
Matter of fact someone said the cupcakes got an 11. So unless I hear different - assume that they won food for every day.
