August 8th, 2006 - Power of Veto Competition and Ceremony.
Recap of the last episode - ending with Janelle and James nominated. -opening credits- Reaction to nominations - in the Diary Room (DR) Janelle is suprised that Danielle nominated James. Mike in the DR says James is a part of the “Legion of Doom” alliance (Mike, Will, Danielle and James) - so he knew about the plan. |

James continues to act surprised at being nominated. He says he is using all of his limited acting experience to fool the other Season 6 (S6) people.
Marcellas is very happy with the nominations - in the DR Danielle says she needs to keep Marcellas in the dark (that she is in an alliance with James I guess).
Janelle talks to Kaysar and asks him if he thinks James is up as a decoy - Kaysar can’t believe that James would agree to such a deal (which he did).
Comedy relief - body shaving time. Howie and Will shave their body hair. Howie ends up shaving George.
Back to strategy. George goes and talks to Danielle. He offers to cover Danielle’s back but says he doesn’t think he can make it to the end. Danielle talks to George and says that they are the only parents there. George gives Danielle his word that he will be there for her at the end. They hug.

A Will segment….. Erika, Janelle kind of flirting with Will. Howie kinda buts in. In the DR Janelle says that Howie has just been in the way a lot of times lately. We see him add nothing to the conversation they are trying to have. Will calls him a baby.
Players are selected for the POV competition (This was Friday night). Danielle picks a name from the bag… Will. Janelle picks a ball that lets her choose someone - she chooses Marcellas (She says that neither Kaysar nor Howie would promise to save her if they won it - in the DR Marcellas says he would not help Janelle is e won), James picks Mike’s ball.
In the DR Danielle says Janelle shouldn’t win the POV since it is basically five against one.
Erica announces the POV contest. She will be announcing it from the living room. The backyard is set up like a graveyard.
The six players lay down in their individual “graves” (picture 8 beds lined up and the HGs laying on the floor between then - they were not in the ground really - they just had mounds of ‘dirt’ between themselves and the next HG so they could not see them). Erica tells them they may be digging their own grave with their answers this game.
Everyone has a buzzer. All start with 40 points. They win points by selecting something mean - they lose points by selecting nice things (gifts, etc). First person to buzz in wins the prize - but they won’t know who won what. Person with the most points wins the POV.
In the DR Danielle says she expects her alliance to do whatever it takes to win the POV. Meanwhile in the DR Will says they (he and Mike) have their own agenda and as long as they are not going up for eviction they don’t care who wins.
Here are the questions, points and who buzzed in first (not revealed yet).
1. Willing to have all beds replace with cots, and no hot water for the week. +7 Points.
2. Willing to spend 24 hours in “Solitary Confinement.” +9 points.
3. Win a ‘margarita party.’ -3 points.
4. Win a plasma TV. -5 points.
5. Win a phone call from a loved one. -5 points.
6. Win a trip for 2 to Aruba. -5 points.
7. Put the 4 HGs not competing on Slop for the rest of the week. +8 points.
8. Personal Slop Pass for the rest of the summer. -7 points.
9. How many points will you give up to win $5,000. (Only could see a couple - both Zero)
10. Give up the right to play for the POV next week. +10 Points.

Janelle wins. Notice how they switched up the order things were revealed vs asked?
Will in the DR says he kinda wanted Janelle to win - he thinks that Janelle will go after Danielle now and save him for another week. Janelle uses an old line of Shannons in the DR and says, “Too bad, so sad, I’m going to be back for another week.”

After the POW they discuss who did what and try to sort out who what. Will says he didn’t win anything to the group. James admits to the phone call and the margarita party. Janelle says her total was 55 (lie) - admits to cots and slop but not to losing the POV next week.
We see the beds all removed…. everyone is grumpy now. Danielle has to head to solitary - no cot even. We see James having to take a cold shower.
Janelle talks about being concerned with James for giving up points even though he is on the block.
Mike and Will decide to try to blame Marcellas for winning things to throw he others off. Will tells Janelle that he thinks Marcellas took all the prizes. Will tells James they have a truce this week and get rid of Marcellas.
The HGs prepare for the Margarita Party. Erika, Howie and Kaysar were not allowed to participate because Janelle put them on slop.
Danielle is very frustrated that the others did not try harder to win the POV and she is stuck in solitary.
James gets his call from Sarah (this was Monday before the POV ceremony). James get s little emotional - he also confirms that his ‘crossed fingers’ are a sign to Sarah.
Back to Danielle in the solitary room - (btw - the HGs did talk to her from time to time through the door - although BB would tell them to stop) - she says she is ready to return to the game.

Danielle is let out of solitary. She runs around and tries to get updates. Mike fills her in that everyone is pissed at Marcellas. He says they are willing to offer a truce if she takes out Marcellas. Danielle pulls Erika into the HoH room and calls people idiots. Then James comes in and she talks about how upset she was not to take the phone call. Erika is asked to leave by James.
James tells Danielle that he and Mike and Will want Marcellas out. Danielle in the DR says she is extremely frustrated with her ‘alliance.’ (it is amazing that I seem to have missed ALL of this stuff over the weekend - I never thought for a minute Marcellas was being considerred).
POV Ceremony. She uses it on herself.
Danielle puts Kaysar on the block in her place. Danielle explains it is about numbers. She played a little mind game by first saying, “Howie” - but she really was just telling him he was safe.
End of the show.
btw - at the end Kaysar was saying he was getting ‘back doored’ - that is not true. The concept of getting ‘back doored’ would mean that the plan all along was to get rid of Kaysar - it wasn’t.
