Big Brother 8 Episode #12 Recap
July 31th, 2007

Show begins with the regular recap – Mike evicted, Dustin HoH, Dustin nominates Jen and Kail.

Opening Credits

Jen and Kail nominated, in the Diary Room (DR) Dick is elated.

Dustin hugs Kail and says they will talk later. Jen doesn’t seem to get a hug from anyone and goes off and cries by herself. In the DR Dustin says that Kail being a pawn is good for him (truth is she was being nominated no matter what – it was just nice that Kail offered herself up).

Dustin pulls Kail into the HoH room and lies to Kail, telling her she is safe. In the DR he admits he is not being honest with her and says that as long as one of the four (Kail, Jen, Zach and Nick) go home he will be happy.Jen is crying and Nick gives her a hug, Amber sees this and feels like Nick is up to something. Dustin feels like he is in an alliance with Jen.

POV competition participants are selected. Random drawing – Dustin picks Daniele, Jen picks Jameka, Kail draws Jessica. Jameka comments that she is heavily influence by her faith and that Jen selecting her was not random.

Dustin pics Eric to host the competition.

The producers play church music as we watch Jameka talk about how God has already determined the outcome. She pulls Jen aside and tells her she will be playing hard for her.

Later on she tells Dick and Dustin the same thing. Dick is amazed she would do that – he can’t believe she feels that God had an influence on who she plays for.

-COMMERCIAL-

The theme for the POV competition is the Big Brother Art Gallery. The competitors dress in a French style (berets and ll black) and everyone is allowed to eat wine and cheese (including those on slow by the way).

In the house are various ‘art’ pieces.

In the DR Jameka says she will be playing hard for Jen, Jessica says she is playing for things not to change.

Eric says the featured artist is Vincent Van Veto – and the art work is related to Big Brother Slogans. You earned ‘big brother bucks’ for every piece of ate you get right.

All started with $1,000

1st Piece – Daniele correct – $500

2nd Piece – Daniele correct – $500

3rd Piece – Kail correct – $750

4th Piece – Daniele – wrong – eliminated.

Greed portion – trip for 2 to Barbados for $750 – Dustin buys it. In the DR Jessica sas she mad he took it. Dick is also mad.

5th Piece – Kail – wrong – eliminated.

6th Piece – Jameka – $1,000

7th Piece – Dustin – $1,000

8th Piece – Dustin – $1,500

Greed again – buy $5,000 cash for $1,500 Big Bro Bucks. Dustin buys it. The Hgs are disappointed. Amber is shown crying in the DR about it.

9th Piece – Jen – wrong – eliminated

Jameka wins because that was the last question. The other HGs suspect Jen did it on purpose (she might have).

-COMMERCIAL-

Outside Dick confronts Dustin about his greed in taking the prizes. In the DR Dustin admits he was being selfish and everyone hates him right now.

I guess Jameka is going to be labeled the church lady because whenever she starts to sound like she is quoting the bible or being religious, they play organ music.

Amber is still very upset and crying to Jameka, not believing that Dustin was so selfish.

Dick gives Jen a hard time for the way she played the POV game, he says she was retarded, she claims she had to try, Dick says she knew if she was wrong Jameka won.

Dick proceeds to go on another verbal rant and the show cuts to commercial very fast (maybe a mistake on my local channels part?).

-COMMERCIAL-

America’s Player time – Eric must get three different people, on five different days to say “I’d do that for a dollar.” He proceeds to act very goofy with his house mates and climbs inside a pillow case – using his catch phrase and the others drag him out to the backyard while he continues to say it. He actually announced to the other HGs that he was tired of all Amber’s catch phrases and was going to start a new one. Dick says he is on board.

By the way, Eric was pretty tipsy when all this was going on – he had had three or four beers.

Another Late Night Crew (LNC) meeting. They know Jen will use the POV and as a group they decide that Nick needs to go up (ed – not shown, Amber is the one that started the discussion about Nick – before it was assumed Zack was going up).

Daniele says she would rather see Jen go home, but obviously Jameka is saving Jen. Amber says Nick has lied and manipulated people too. Daniele gets up and leaves and cries in the bathroom.

Jameka says she would like Zack gone if it were up to her.

-COMMERCIAL-

POV Ceremony time.

Jameka ponders her choices for the camera – then calls everyone in for the meeting.

Jen’s plea – “Everything happens for a reason, I really enjoy being here”

Kail’s plea – “I’m not going to ask you to choose me over a friend.”

Jameka makes a remark about character – obviously directed at Dustin and saves Jen from nomination.

Dustin nominated Nick. He says that some people have worn themselves thing by playing both sides.

In the DR Nick says he isn’t going to lay down and sulk. Kail doesn’t know what is up, she doesn’t feel safe. Jen is more upset with Dustin for putting up Nick than he was with being nominated herself.

11:45pm Nick didn’t play dumb with Amber – he actually told her he knows the group decided to put him up. So much for following Dicks suggested. He then went off to bed and snuggled with Daniele. Jen lost her retainer long ago (I think while in sequester) and she is worried her teeth are spreading, so she actually had Kail try to tie her front teeth together to keep them from spreading.

10pm One group of HGs is playing a silly game in the kitchen – guessing which keys have been randomly placed with which pics. Meanwhile – outside right now Dick has told Nick exactly why he is up – strategy, and that everyone was involved in deciding to put him up – most for strategy, some for personal reasons. Nick says he trusts Dick and Daniele 100% – Dick even says he should not trust everyone 100%. Dick is encouraging Nick to play major mind games with Amber – Dick says he woud love to see her crying for the next 24 hours.

8:15pm Vincent – Your dad (Dick) wants you to wish your grandmother a Happy Birthday (which was yesterday). Daniele said he doesn’t even know if he is on the feeds – but he was.

7:15pm Things appear to still be on schedule for Nick to be voted out on Thursday. I am also still thinking it might be an Endurance HoH competition after the eviction.

Amber and Dustin are whispering but I think it is about the people they talk to in the Diary Room they both seem to have crushes on their respective ‘handlers.’

4:15pm An update on the banners – the two that have flown in the last two days are reported to have said the following.

Monday – “We see the D.R. Trust Nick. Eric Lies”

Tuesday – “Trust Nick. Dump Kail. Amber Lies.”

The HGs have not seen them. But Jameka and Dustin are speculating that it might be Nick’s family sending them since they have ‘money’ according to Dustin.

4pm Dick and Daniele sneak in a few words – Dick doesn’t think it is worth trying to save Nick – that the effort will create division within the alliance (the LNC).

3pm Dick approached Eric about the possibility of voting out Kail but Eric didn’t seem to be interested, of course I am betting Eric will have to vote to evict Kail on Thursday.

2:10pm Sounds like there is a banner plane. There was one yesterday too. No matter, the HGs were told to get inside so they could not see it. Eric says the banners would not be helpful so he would rather not see them. Of course if it said Eric is playing for America that would be a bad thing for him.

Note to folks sending banners – do it when they are on an outside lock down if you can time it – or better yet – Thursday around 5:45pm – they are always out at that time and the show is on live.

10:55pm Daniele is telling Nick whom to work on to save himself. She says Jameka, Eric and Jessica is who he needs to concentrate on.

10:40pm Believe it or not – not a lot has happened – Dick just went into the Diary Room – it seems like Big Brother may just be letting him get away with dumping the tea. Here are two screen caps and I have uploaded my video to YouTube. Click Here to see that.

9:25pm The Tea incident made “Showtime Too” I am sure it will be up on youtube shortly – I was recording the show so I will make a video and post it tonight.

9:05pm Dick poured a glass of tea on Jen’s head as she and Daniele were having a very heated discussion (which Daniele started). There may be repercussions to that act by Dick. I am looking for a screencap or video of the incident. I was watching but not video capping.

8:55pm Dick is still really verbally going after Jen and now Nick has decided to join in. It actually is rather uncomfortable to listen to. It is on par with the kind of stuff Howie pulled during Season 6.

8:30pm Parts of the LNC has been up in the HoH room for the last couple of hours. Speculating. The part that isn’t in the HoH much is under suspicion. Dustin, Amber, Eric and Jameka are speculating about Dick and Daniele. They feel they are an aliance of two and may try to save Nick and team up with Jen against the – its true – that is how they feel. Nick is still sweet talking Daniele – she seems willing to let him as well.

6:40pm The LNC is a bit splintered at the moment based on the fallout from the POV ceremony. Dustin feels Jameka is very mad at him based on her speech before the POV. Eric seems a bit ticked that Dick immediately after nominations said that there were many names being tossed around and implying he didn’t have a part in the decision.

Dustin is giving himself a haircut – looks like a ‘buzz’ cup. He also trimmed up Zach a bit earlier.

Apparently Kail is upset with Dick again for his verbal assaults on people and was actually looking in the rule book for a way to get Dick thrown out on a technicality.

5:10pm Nick and Dustin have worked things out and now Dustin is finishing the job Nick started. Dustin is telling Nick that Daniele was kept sort of in the dark about Nick’s nomination (a lie). Dustin is even saying that Amber fought hard for him to not be nominated (another lie). Overall Nick took it better than I expected.

Big Brother 8 Episode #11 Recap
July 29th, 2007

The show begins with a recap of Mike leaving the house by a vote of 7-2. The house wonders who voted for Kail to go besides Zach. Dustin wins HoH.

Opening Credits

Kail is shocked that Mike was eliminated. Zach knew Mike was going so he stayed true to his alliance. Dick says Kail is still on the list to go.

The speculation continues on who the second vote was (It was Eric). Nick asks Amber and Amber in turn goes around and tells people that she thinks it was Nick and not Jen.

Dick confronts Jen and asks her why he would vote Mike out – she says because she knew the house was voting Mike out. He wonders who told Jen that was the plan. Talking to Amber and Daniele, they seem to decide that Nick told her the house was voting out Mike (ed – honestly I don’t even know who told her – they are just looking for reasons to blame Nick for anything at this point.).

Now the show moves on to Dustin being the new HoH. We see him win the competition. In the Diary Room (DR) Dustin says there are seven people in the house that are very excited.

AMBER ALERT!! AMBER ALERT!! (I have decided to do this whenever I see her crying). Amber is shown crying in the DR because she was so happy for him. She says they deserve it – they are the strongest alliance in the house.

Amber and Dustin have a mini celebration – Kail in the DR says Dustin may hold her nominating Kail over her head, Jen feels she is ok since she got Dustins ex Joe voted out.

Dustin gets into his HoH room and reads a letter from his brother and cries.

Dick brings up people that think pets are on the same level as children – he says h can’t believe people like that. As it happens Amber has acknowledged spending $5-10k on her pet dog so she gets very defensive at this comment.

Dick can’t believe Amber can say she loves her dog as much as she loves her daughter – Amber says it isn’t the same – but it does compare. Amber says she would give her life for her dog and her daughter. Dick continues to push the issue with Amber.

In the DR Amber says she is ‘over’ Dick.

-COMMERCIAL-

Late night with Dick. Dick rigs up the faucet in the kitchen to squirt the first person to turn it on. That person in the morning happens to be Daniele (this has gone on many many times).

Zach tells a story about being at some weird sex party. Jameka is stunned. Dustin compares him to Eyore. We see him walk up to a group and the group slowly dissipate. In the DR Zach says he doesn’t feel he fits in with any group. Daniele says she would rather eat slop for a month than talk to Zach for an hour.

Dick talks about his current relationship with Daniele -he is shown talking to her and hugging her. This conversation actually happened last Monday when Dick was HoH. Want to see for yourself? Read this post from that day.

-COMMERCIAL-

Eric and Jessica – Eric seems a bit smitten with Jessica, they are shown doing some swing dance moves This also was from last week – last Monday night again -actually this flipping they show is what was going on WHILE Dick and Daniele were fighting in another room! Same link to the same post with the pictures I took that day

Food competition.

“Humpty Scramble” Everyone pairs up.

Outside the pairs have to re-build Humpty Dumpty from 3-d puzzle pieces. The team of Jessica and Jameka win. No slop for them.

Dustn tells them that they get to pick the 5 people on slop for the rest of the week.

They select – in this order – Dick (his first time on slop), Zach (because Jameka doesn’t like Zach), Kail (in the DR Jameka mentions Karma), Nick (to keep him from having strength for the next HoH), and Jen (Jen is positive about it – says it will keep her from snacking).

-COMMERCIAL-

Dick asks Jen if she has had a boob job. Jen neither confirms nor denies it.

Kail talks with Dustin about his nomination options – she suggests Dick and Zack. Dustin says the ‘house’ wants the original alliance broken up.

Jen talks to Dustin (this was right before nominations) – she denies voting for Kail to leave, she says if Zack is nominated that he would get voted out.

America’s player is told to get Jen nominated.

The LNC (Late Night Crew) has one of their many pow wows to decide whom to nominate. Eric is shown pushing to get Jen nominated (this is rather silly – it wasn’t a hard sell – that is why Eric said thank you – he knew she would be nominated).

Nomination time. Same ole same ole… here is the order the names came out of the box:

Amber, Jessica, Dick, Jameka, Nick, Zach, Daniele, Eric.

Jen and Kail nominated.

Dustin says Jen is a strong player and Kail has exhibited questionable behavior this week.

In the DR Kail says it is tough being a pawn. Yet Dustin says she isn’t and that he wants her to go home. Jen is upset, says it hurts to be up again this week, she didn’t expect Dustin to nominate her, we see her crying.
