Who To Root For? The Real Big Brother Fans In The House.

July 3rd, 2007

As many of us know, the casting process for Big Brother leaves a lot to be desired to many fans.

It seems every year we learn that some of the house guests were ‘cast’ and hadn’t even watched Big Brother before they were asked to be a part of the show.

So which house guests have either tried out for Big Brother in the past or listed it as a favorite TV show on their profiles?  Here is the list as I see it.

Dick – Even though Dick doesn’t list the show on his ‘favorite TV shows,’ it has been reported that he tried out for previous seasons of Big Brother and came close to making it a couople times.

Ready? Set? Your Viewing Options For BB8 This Year.

July 3rd, 2007

While the feeds are technically up and running already, even if it is with only music and ‘coming soon’ notes….  I was wondering how the average fan will be viewing the feeds this year.  If they will be viewing them at all.

Way back when in 2000, during Big Brother I (the US version at least), the feeds were free, yes that’s right, they were free to anyone that loaded them.  Talk about giving out free drugs.  CBS (and AOL at the time) managed to addict many of us that season with 24×7 virtually un-interrupted live feeds.  There was a ‘chicken’ camera back then but it was seldom used.

Fast forward to 2007.

Now we have to pay to see the feeds but there are more and more options.  If you don’t want to invest in the feeds (the entire season will run you $30 if you sign up by July 4th via this link), you can hope to catch other people’s recordings via youtube.  My youtube account is right here and I will update it with the videos I like the best as the season goes on.

This year CBS has also added 3 hours a night of live feeds on television. So if you get the Showtime channel “ShoToo” set your TIVO or DVR to record every night from 12am-3am (Eastern).  You’ll apparently get to see one camera view of the live feeds.  Not as good as the 4 cameras (plus quad-cam) that you get via the internet, but if you have the channel already you can get a taste.  The big problem is, what happens when there is a fight in the house and it goes on after the 3am cutoff?  You will be outta luck then!

Currently I have my feeds set up and ready to view, but I don’t have ShoToo and I am trying to decide if it is worth the investment to be able to record 3 hours of feeds a night while I am usually sleeping.  It will be interesting to see if more or less people get the feeds over the net after seeing some of them on cable.

So how will you be viewing the live feeds this year?  Will you be viewing them at all?
