Friday was spent running the Power of Veto (POV) competition.  The total time to get the thing done ended up being around 5 hours and here is what I know from the discussions after.

If all you want is to know who won it – then here ya go, Daniele is the proud owner of the first Power of Veto for Season 8 of Big Brother.

Now for those of you that want more details…. 

As usual six HGs played for the POV.  The Head of Household (HoH) Kail, and the two nominated HGs Carol and Amber.  Each of them then apparently drew one name at random to participate.  It sounds like Dick, Jessica and Dustin were not allowed to participate since they could not be nominated this week (they also still don’t know if they will be allowed to vote).  So making the list along with the other three was Nick, Jameka and Daniele.

Jessica was also participating as host.

The basic gist of the competition seems to be as follows.  The HGs were given one or more “POV” medallions and had to hide them in the house.  They then all went looking for them – this may have been done as a group or individually.  The winner, Daniele,  seems to be the person that found the most medallions.  Amber remarked yesterday that she didn’t even find one, but she also said she was helping Nick and Jameka who have told Amber they want her to stay in the house.

Of course there are no pictures of the actual contest as the POV competitions are not shown on the live feeds.  However here are a couple of pictures that I took of the HGs  cleaning up the mess that was made in the bedrooms.

So what does Daniele winning the POV mean for Carol and Amber?  From the discussion afterwards it would appear that Danielle won’t use it and the nominations will remain the same.  That means that with the current ‘mood’ of the house and alliances, Carol will be going home next Thursday.
