Big Brother 8 Episode #7 Recap
July 19th, 2007

Show begins with a recap of the Jen winning HoH, her nomination of Daniele and Dick, Daniele saving herself with the POV and Joe going up in her place.

Opening credits…

Now Julie recaps everything once again.

Julie says the vote will be live and ‘anything can happen’ (ed – umm – not really)

We see Daniele save herself and Jen nominate Joe in a 3rd recap of the POV.

Reactions to the POV ceremony, Dustin very happy, Daniele happy to be off the block, Dick says he is sure he is staying, Joe thinks he is screwed.

Joe talks to Kail and tells her he wants to stay, he talks to Mike and Jessica as well. Jessica in the DR says she thinks Joe would take her out to stay in the house and she can’t have that.

Eric gets his America’s Player vote – he is told to vote Joe out. He says thank you – it is a slam dunk.

Dick talks to Kail, telling her that her alliance is busted, she tells Dick that she is currently voting for him to stay. Kail then goes to Mike and says they need to get Evel out because no one is going against him. So they begin to work on getting votes to save Joe. Kail works on Daniele, trying to turn Daniele against Dick, she tells Daniele that Dick did something right in leaving her with his parents.

Daniele reports her campaigning to Dick.

Kail tells Nick he has to vote Dick out because he is in with Daniele.

Dick confronts Kail about her campaigning (this was yesterday afternoon). She says she doesn’t have to tell him anything. He calls her stupid and transparent. He says she can’t be trusted. Jessica, Jameka, Eric and others are a witness to the confrontation (I saw this live and it was shown pretty much un-edited – kudos CBS).

Diary Room entries from Kail, Dustin, Nick, Daniele and Jessica – none really commit so what they say is pretty meaningless to me. Besides – CBS wants it to seem close ya know!

Julie talks to the HGs. Daniele says it is a crappy situation but she is glad she is safe. Amber says she has a big heart to explain all her crying. Julie teases Nick about his relationship with Daniele. Julie comments on the many ways Jen has worn the unitard. Asked if it might be a new fashion trend, Jessica says no.

Joe vs. Justin – we see the two guys going back and forth. We meet Nate whom was involved with Joe (and was Dustin’s best friend) – turns out Nate is on Dustin’s side. He says Joe just wants to make Dustin out to be a bad guy. Joe and Dustin on the hammock – Joe lobbying for Dustins vote – and Dustin refuses to give him his vote. Joe then basically tells off Dustin – imlying he never gave him a chance.

Mike, Amber. Zach and Jameka in the DR – again no votes so what they say doesn’t matter too much because they haven’t voted.

-COMMERCIAL-

Julie talks to Jen. She feels Dick has a lot of similar traits as she does – they just handle it differently. Julie asks her about her picture on the memory wall – she still says it is horrible. Jen feels Daniele’s energy has improved since she was nominated.

Nominees talk, Joe says now is the time to keep your word, Dick says he hopes to spend more time with them. He meets Julie and sits down.

Back inside everyone is hugging – it is pretty somber.

Live voting. All go to the DR to vote.

Eric – Joe (sounds like he has no choice – vote is for Joe)

Joe evicted 9-1 – Joe was not shocked, he seems resigned. He hugs everyone and says it was nice to meet everyone. Wishes them good luck and heads out the door.

Back outside – Julie asks Joe how it feels to see his ex still inside. Joe said he lost his focus once he saw Dustin in the house. In retrospect he probably should not have stirred the pot as much.

Julie reveal that Eric was the twist in the house, that he was told to crawl into bed with Joe. Joe is surprised. Joe feels honored that America voted for Eric to climb into bed with him.

Goodbyes – Dick says see ya, Zach says he always wanted him out, Kail apologizes, Jessica says bye and she is sad, Nick says Joe is a very charismatic person, Jen says her skills at persuasion must stink, Dustin says that Joe needs to take care of himself.

-COMMERCIAL-

Looks like another ‘quiz’ type HoH comp. They are in their booths and there is an E=MC2 formula on the wall behind them.

Theme is ‘getting schooled’ – they will be asked T/F Q’s – history, geography and math as they pertain to their time in the BB house.

T/F – Carol said ‘Fabulous’ when evicted. T – Dustin eliminated.

T/F – Butter Me Up Comp – total weight of all the butter was 117 lbs. F – Jameka, Eric, Zach and Jessica eliminated.

T/F – The animal topiaries are based on the Garden of Eden sculptures by Michelangelo. F – Kail Eliminated.

T/F – Jen said ‘Don’t steal this from me, I really would be sad’ when she won the 2nd HoH. F – Amber and Nick eliminated.

T/F – Add up all the bites of Pie taken – more than 45. T – but all wrong.

T/F – Jen won the red unitard and shouted, “Thank you Santa” – F – all right.

Tie-Breaker – How many hours has Jen had the unitard since she opened her present? Nearest Hour.

Daniele – 145

Dick – 120

Mike – 108

125 hours – Dick new HoH

12am Kail is scrambling and went to Amber and Dustin and told them about the Mrs Robinson alliance, that she was in an alliance with Mike and two other people (she never named Nick and Zach) and the other two screwed over the alliance. She hoped to go to Dick and somehow use this as justification for why he should target others.

Something that might make TV – it is Jameka’s birthday and Eric licked off some body paint from a table, winning a bet which meant Jessica licked more body paint off his body.

8:55pm Dick has been allowed in the HoH room, they just got their food. Dick HoH room looks the same as the previous ones. Dick has talked to several people and said he is nominating Kail and Jen. Mike would be the third person to go if Kail comes off nominations. Dick says it is going to be an ‘easy’ week for almost everyone.

7:30pm Oh yeah – Kail will be going up. Not sure with who – Jen of Mike I am guessing. They are still waiting on food. Dick just said he isn’t sure if he is going to sleep in the HoH room. I almost feel sorry for Mike, he looks beaten. The slop crew has to wait until 9pm to eat apparently.

6:15pm Feeds return, Amber and Daniele were very excited in the Storage Room. Amber mentions something about the ‘best week ever.’

6:06pm Cams are still on “Trivia” – should be back soon. I would expect Dick to nominate Kail and Jen tomorrow. Should be a pretty low stress night I think. Dick didn’t like the HoH bed, so there is a chance he may sleep downstairs, we’ll see. The Ladies are now off slop, so I’d expect them to be feasting right now or very soon.

6pm Joe Evicted 9-1 – Dick new HOH

4:52pm Thats it – Cams now off until after the show. Here is a shot of all 13 HGs.

4:45pm Jameka has kept her promise and is telling Joe she is voting to evict him. She is explaining to him that he is being lied to and he will see it in the end vote. Joe doesn’t want to accept it.

4:10pm I was wrong. Cams are back on now. Joe is still working on people for their votes. Nick has re-affirmed with Zach, Dustin and others that he is voting out Joe.

3:30pm I am guessing that we won’t see any more HGs for a while – we have the water tunnel again.

2pm Joe is STILL trying to work the votes. I can’t see it happening but if it does then he did some fancy talking. He is counting on Nick, Zach and Jessica (along with Mike and Kail) to vote Dick out. If Nick votes out Dick then something major must have gone on while the cameras were not on.

12:10pm Video continues to be a bit wacky. Probably how it will be for the rest of the day.

11:30am Storage room conversations. The only rooms they have been letting us see have been the bathroom and the storage room. Nick met with Zack about voting – explaining how/why he wants to vote out Joe over Dick. Then Mike came in and talked to Nick and he again explained his reasons. and finally Kail and Mike met in the Storage Room where Mike told Kail that Nick was voting out Joe. Yet Kail apparently will still vote for Dick to go.

11:05am Never mind, it just got over!

11am Still on a lockdown. They were told it would be 30 minutes to an hour and yet it goes on.

9:25am Lockdown in the HoH room.

8:30am Looks like the HGs are getting a wake-up call. Most mornings Big Brother plays one or more songs for them so they can have fun OFF cam for a few minutes.

7:45am Everyone is sound asleep. Dick went to bed around 5:45.

5am Dick and Jen are the only two still up. Dick has been laying everything out for Jen, I am amazed at how openly Dick talks about the game and exposes a lot more than I think he should. One funny thing, he tells Jen (and has told others) that there are people that type every word they say and that people are assigned to individuals. That isn’t quite true. People type a lot of what is said but not every word and as far as I know there is no site where people are assigned individuals.

12am-5am The only conversation of note was a big discussion between Dick and Dustin about the house, Dustin saying he cried in Dick’s farewell message and was like a robot in Joe’s. They really seemed to be getting along (Dick and Dustin) but unless Dick has had a change of mind, he really wants Dustin out soon. Then again I have seen Dick talk very rationally with people he wanted to vote out.
