Big Brother 8 Episode #4 Recap
July 12th, 2007

First, a recap of the previous shows as always.  Then on to the credits.

Julie again recaps the rivalries.  Then mentions Amber and Carol being up for eviction.

Then the famous - “but first”  - the reaction to the nominations and Daniele not using the Power of Veto (POV).  Carol says all she can do is try and pretend she isn’t bothered.  Amber says she is not here for herself, she is here for her family.  Dick says he can trust more than anyone but Daniele.

We see the Dustin tell Amber how much he trusts her and Amber feels she has the votes to stay.  We see Carol discussing with Jen who she thinks she has (Joe, Daniele, Jen).  She doesn’t think she has Dustin, Dick and Jessica.

Carol huddles with Jessica and apologizes for things that happened in the past.  Jessica seems in the Diary Room (DR) to be happy Carol is nominated.  She talks to Eric, then Joe, Joe says he wants to break up the Amber/Dustin alliance. 

Joe goes to Zach and Zach says ‘if it is close, come back to me.’  In the DR Zach says his alliance needs to stay together. Zach and Nick go over the options.  Then we aee Mike, Zach and Amber talking in the Head of Household (HoH) with Kail, finally Jen talks to Kail after the other two leave.

Julie talks to the HGs live after a bit of audio difficulty.  She asks Jen how it was making the decision on who to evict - Jen stumbles and says “fun?” she giggles and says she wasn’t prepared to answer any questions (ed - and I bet she isn’t asked any more either - lol).

Julie asks Jessica about Carol and Carol about Jessica - they both seem ok with each other now.

Dick on Daniele says ‘baby steps’ - Daniele says that it has been ‘akward’ (in a silly voice she practiced).

Joe on Dustin, the nicest thing he can say about Dustin is he has a nice smile (and ads it is only a surface thing), and Dustin says Joe has a winning personality.

We see Dustin, Joe, Jen and Jameka’s DR comments about voting.  We see reasons to keep and evict both but no votes are revealed.

Dicks son Vincent and mother Charlotte comment on Dick as a father.

Vincent says Daniele hasn’t talked to her because she borrowed money from her father and was unable to pay him back and he didn’t handle it very well.

Charlotte said when did because a father at 22 he didn’t handle it very well, they he didn’t understand that his ‘life’ was over (meaning the ’single, non parent’ lifestyle).

We see Dick again get teary eyed over the situation.  Vincent hopes they get back together because their family is already small and it is tough on them.

Julie talks to Kail.  She says she went with the guys for an alliance because of her being so much other than the girls and because Zach approached her.  She also comments on Eric comint to her - said she thinks he came to her because he trusted her to keep it quiet.

Zach, Daniele, Dick, Mike and Jessica comment on the nominees in the DR - again, not votes revealed.

-COMMERCIAL-

Eric, American’s player is profiled.  His family talks about him, and their reaction to him being America’s Player.  His older brother hoped he wasn’t America’s Player because it would mess up his plans.  The entire family was disappointed it seemed when it was announced.

Julie reveals who America told him to vote - it was to evict Carol - and he did.

-COMMERCIAL-

Julie talks to Amber and Carol.  Amber says she has had a good time and gets choked up.  Carol says she considers it an honor and privilege to have met them all. 

10-1 Carol evicted.

Carol says, “I sae that one coming.”  She hugs everyone and heads to the door.  Tells everyone to enjoy and they clap for her as she leaves.

She exits and says she hopes she grabbed the right bag.  Camera cuts back inside and everyone is hugging Amber.  Dick comments on the Bunny location (not site where they were).

Cut back to Carol saying, “This is so weird.”

Julie asks if Jessica is different, and Carol says she really isn’t very different but doesn’t want to go into it.  Julie shows Carol clips of Jessica bad-mouthing her.  Carol says the clips show her for who she is.

Goodbyes….  Joe, Zach, Kail, Amber, all positive.  Jessica says good luck and that she is talented, maybe they will see each other at a high school reunion.  Carol says it is just Jessica and she’ll never change.

Julie says they will reveal the one HG to vote for Carol tomorrow (I’m 99% sure it was Jen - she was the only one out of the loop in the house).

Next up HoH Comp.

Head of Household Comp.  Kail can’t compete.

“Majority Rules”  - pick the answer the majority will pick.  Dial set to A/B.

Butter Me Up Food Comp - Prefer to rub the butter off Daniele (A) or Jen (B)?

Daniele - Zach was the only one eliminated.

Who not to let go out with your little sister?  Nick (A) - Mike (B)?

Nick - Dick, Daniele, Nick eliminated.

Who would cheat on significant other?  Joe (A) - Dustin (B)?

All said Joe.

Hold grudge the longest?  Dick (A) - Daniele (B)?

Daniele - Jameka eliminated.

Who best to chear you up when depressed?  Eric - Jessica

Eric - Amber eliminated.

Who most likely to turn  500k into 5 Million?  Kail - Zach

Jessica  - Mike and Jessica eliminated.

Help and old lady across the street?  Jameka - Amber

Tie.

Tie-Breaker Question - Eric, Jen, Joe and Dustin remain.

How many gallons of water does the spinning tea cup hold?

9 Gallons?  WHAT?  I guess because it is open on the side - everyone else guessed over 100 - Jen guessed 41.  Jen is the new HoH.

Wow…… lol

We listen in on the HGs in the backyard.  It is apparent Jen is explaining to Amber why she voted for her, because she knew her less than Carol.
