Big Brother 8 Episode #5 Recap

The HGs did their own “Stongest Man” competition on the live feeds tonight so I got a late start - I am watching the show now - you can read about the strongest man competition here. 

The show begins with a recap of the eviction of Carol last Thursday.

Jessica in the Diary Room (DR) says ‘too bad - so sad.’  Kail says she accomplished her goal.  Jen was the one vote for Carol to stay.

Again Amber cites God as the reason she was up.

We see Carol’s name go b/w.  Jameka said it made the game seem real.

The replay of Jen winning HoH is shown.  CBS edited Julie’s comment to mention the ‘entrance’ to the tea cup.  This was not mentioned to the HGs until after the show Thursday.  Joe says it was a great technicallity to make the dumbest person win the HoH.

Speculation begins on who might be nominated.  Dick thinks he might go up, Daniele thinks she might as well.

Jen says she is not sure who she will nominate yet.  Dick says she would be stupid not ot nominae him.  Daniele thinks Jen is jealous of her relationship with Nick so that might be a reason for her to nominate her.

Next up - the drinking game that Mike, Zach and Dustin came up with.  The “I You” game.  One group takes a drink every time Jen says “I” and the other gorup takes a drink every time she says “You.”  Needless to say the “I” team loses - if you consider drinking a lot losing.

And now we get to see Jen’s HoH room.  Unlike last year the HoH room looks about the same, except there are photo’s related to the HoH in the room.  The picture upset Jen because they were of her family and not of her friends or the kids she is a nanny for (she claims to be a nanny for Vanna White).

Everyone leaves the HoH room except for Joe - he reminds Jen that they had originally discussed putting up Dustin, Dick and Jessica.  In the DR Jen says Joe is not to be trusted and should be watching out for himself.

 Beefcake time - Mike and Nick lift weights.  Zach and Dustin make fun of them (yet they actually had their Strong Man competition today on the feeds).

Nick and Daniele flirting is shown.  Nick pretends he is going to give Daniele something - he tells her to hold her hand out and close her eyes, She finally does and he gives her a key and says it is the key to his heart (it is the key to his suitcase).

Jen discusses her nomination options with Kail.  She says she could nominate Danielle and Dick, but she doesn’t want to take out any more girls.  Other names mentioned, Joe and Nick.  Kail suggests Jessica, saying Jessica might go after her and Daniele for being the “hottest.”

Food competition time.  This was Friday but was not seen on the feeds - usually the food competitions are shown, hopefully this was a one time thing this year. 

The HGs head outside to play a game called “Name that Pie” - they divide into two teams.  6 guys vs the 5 women and Joe.

Each pie contains two ingredients listed on a board.  The HG willing to name the ingredients in the least amount of bites and succeeding, wins a point for their team.  If they are not successful the other team gets a point.

Jameka vs Dick - Jameka bids 5 bites and Dick says to go for it.

Jameka’s pie is Bacon and Banana - she guesses right.

Amber vs Dustin - Amber bids 4 bites and Dustin lets her try.

Potato and Pineapple - she guesses Lemon and Sweet Potato - guys get a point.

Kail vs Eric - Eric bids 4 and gets to go for it.

Sausage and Apple - Eric tried Spam and Fig - women get a point.

Nick vs Jessica - 4 bites for Jessica.

Hot Dog and Strawberry - She guesses Spam and Pomegranite - guys get a point.

Joe vs Zach - 4 bites, Zach has to guess.

Pepperoni and Mint - Zach guesses Venecin and Mint - girls get a point.

Mike vs Daniele - Daniele guesses Carrot and Cheese and is right - Point for the ladies.

Dick vs Jameka - Dick - Sweet Potato and Licorice - correct - Point for the men. 

Amber vs Dustin - Salmon and Blueberry - Amber guesses right - Women Score (5-3 women)

Kail vs Eric - Hamburger and Peach - Kail guesses Black Beans and Peach - Men’s point (5-4 women).

Nick vs Jessica - Three Bites for Nick - Tuna and Jelly Beans - correct - 5-5 tie.

Joe vs Zach - Three bites bid by Joe - Anchovy and Cabbage - Joe guesses Clam and Zucchini - Men take the lead 6-5.

Daniele vs Mike - Fout bites for Daniele - Pickle and Clam was the pie - Daniele guesses Pickle and Tofu.  Men win - Women (and Joe) on slop for the week.

-COMMERCIAL-

America’s player results - who should Eric try to get nominated.  Eric comments that this might also give him some insight to what we see that he doesn’t (very true - unfair advantage?).   Amercia selected Jessica (meow America!).  Eric never thought of that. 

Eric gives it his best shot.   Meh - rather boring if you ask me.

Nick talks to Jen in the HoH room.  She kinda admits that she was dissapointed to see Nick and Daniele developing more than she did with her.  Nick says she (Daniele) has a boyfriend.  Nick says he is just a flirt.  Jen says she was thinking about putting up the ‘negative’ people and comments that Nick is pretty negative.  Nick tells her to pretty much do whatever.

In the round bed bedroom Jen walks in and begins talking and wakes up Mike and Dick - Dick gets really mad and leaves the room.  Dick starts to vent about Jen and then goes back in and tell Jen she needs to start being more considerate of others.  He calls her names and tells her that he will do whatever he can to make her he most miserable person in the house.  Jen says whatever and smiles at the camera.

Finally nomination time, here is the order the names came out of the box.

Jameka, Kail, Mike, Zach, Nick, Jessica, Amber, Dustin, Eric, Joe.  Dick and Daniele nominate.

Jen says she nominated them because they cause negative atmosphere in the house.  She feels the house would be a happier house without the negative vibes.
