Big Brother 9 Episode #17 Recap

Show begins with a recap of the last week. James wins HoH – James Nominates Sheila and Ryan, James wins POV, James saves Sheila and nominates Matt.
Opening Credits.
Julie welcomes everyone – mentioning James has been biking around the world (once again – he lost his passport so he hasn’t been outside the US yet!! lol). Julie re-caps as usual ends by saying Ryan or Matt will go home.
We see James save Sheila and nominate Matt. Natalie calls James a hypocrite in the Diary Room (DR) – James says he did it because Matt lied about being the 3rd vote to get him back in the house.
Matt confronts James and James says Matt is playing with Natalie (implying he has an advantage) – Matt says he is not playing with Natalie – then he starts to tear up saying he is letting people down. Matt feels like he is going home. In the DR James says ‘boo hoo Matt’ – that Matt pointing out he will not have something to give his mom is the same as anyone else – they all have parents.
Natalie tries to comfort Matt and he just wants to be alone – in the DR Matt says he didn’t want to cry on TV.
Ryan talks to people – he talks to Joshua and she says he is ok – then he talks to Sheila and she says that he is safe with her – and when she makes a decision that is it (this is highlighted by BB because late Sheila will promise Matt as well).
Matt talks to Adam and Adam tells him to get fired up.
Matt approaches Chelsia – tries to play on her heart strings – says he does not want to be alone for his birthday – in the DR Chelsia says she wasn’t buying his stuff and almost laughed in his face. He does the exact same thing with Sharon, whose reaction is almost the same in the DR. Sheila is then approached and she is wishy washy – in the DR Matt expresses his frustration.
Now we see Matt approach Chelsia again – she tells him to lay off. He tells all three women in the back yard that he has never crossed any of them and he doesn’t understand why he is going ove Ryan because Ryan has crossed so many of them (shown in flashbacks). Sheila seems to be buying into the thought.
Sheila says it is a split vote now and Matt needs to convince James. Sheila goes to bat for James and says he should keep Matt. James seems willing to listen. She implies that Matt hasn’t done anything to him where Ryan has. In the DR James APPEARS tonot have decided (Editing!! He knows who he wants gone).
After the commercial we catch up with Dick and Danielle apparently.
Diary rooms – whatever – Joshuah, Adam, and Natalie ramble.

Julie talks to the HGs and points out how James kinda broke his word. James didn’t really answer the question – mentioning something about a bad sleeping pattern. Natalie says he is a hypocrite.
Julie teases Adam and Ryan about being ‘bible buddies.’
Julie asks them about the box from last week and reveals that Alex was the one that was going to come back. She asks them how many would have voted Alex back – 4 of the 8 – a tie.
Now a visit with Dick and Daniele from BB8.
Dick says life is different and good, the night of the interview Dick was off to meet Barry Manilow – he says that lots of people that know him and it is almost ‘rock starish.’
Dick took Daniele to Europe with some of the moeny. Daniele says the relationship has improved. We see a new car that Dick got her as well.
On Nick – Daniele says they are no longer dating – that they moved on.
Dick says this season is different – they seem to like James – Dick says Sheila drones on and on. Daniele says that is all Dick did. Dick says that he could have flown under the radar in this house – Daniele says no he couldn’t.
Julie announces Dick will return next week to the BB house (I’d assume in a POV or Food competition).
Chelsia, Sharon and Sheila talk about the vote…. and….

Julie talks to the Ryan and Matt.
Ryan says he is in a familiar position and he is out of material. He says he wants to right what he has done wrong.
Matt says he is humble and he would also like a chance to rectify what he has done and says it is a touch choice.
Voting begins:

Sheila – Ryan
Tie – James will cast the tie breaker (this was expected – James wanted it this way – but Adam, Sheila, Natalie and Matt do not expect a tie).

(OOOOOOHHHHH – the feeds may be rocking after the show – Natalie, Adam and Sheila are gonna be mad – and if one of them wins HoH – it may be really wild!)
Julie announces the vote – James must cast the tie breaker. Matt looks shocked.
James simply says he votes to evict Matt. Matt hugs everyone and even shakes James hand. Natalie tries to hug him a lot and he seems to pull away a bit. Matt heads right outside – obviously shaken.
Inside Natalie is crying and some of the others are comforting her – Chelsia tells her that maybe he will be coming back in.
Outside Matt says that he didn’t get the votes – that the ‘wrong man was convicted.’ He says that Natalie will be a great friend – but he is not for her.
Goodbyes – pretty much all nice – Natalie says that she thinks he might be her soul mate – Matt says that the ‘dream is over.’ Matt is the first member of the Jury.
A teaser for the HoH competition – the backyard MAY look like a gold course? Hard to tell – but the HGs are in a group – not set up for a quiz.

“On Guard” they will face off and answer questions (oh well – it is a quiz of sorts).
You buzz in – right answer – the other person out – wrong – and you are out. Answers are names of evicted HGs.
Josh vs Chelsia – Answer is Jen – incorrect – Josh out (Parker was right) Chelsia gets to select who faces off (hmmm)
Natalie vs Sheila – Answer is Allison – Natalie correct – Sheila out.
Chelsia vs Sharon – Answer is Jen – Chelsia correct – Sharon out.
Adam vs Natalie – Matt is Adam correct – Natalie out.
Chelsia vs Ryan – Alex is Chelsia correct – Ryan out.
Adam vs Chelsia – Amanda – Adam correct – Adam next HoH – (he guessed)
–COMMERCIAL–
Julie talks to Adam – he doesn’t want to nominate people – but he is ecstatic to be HoH and see pictures and get a letter from home.
Julie says Dick will be seen on Tuesday’s show to give the HGs a wake up call they won’t forget. (Chances are that means he will be in the house on Friday).
The HGs are talking while the credits roll – Adam seems to imply he guessed Amanda because the other two evicted women had already been answers (very good Adam – and correct).
