Big Brother 9 Episode #4 Recap

Show begins as always with a recap of the last few shows - ending with Alex and Amanda nominating Jen/Parker and Ryan/Allison.
Opening Credits
We see the end of the nomination ceremony - reactions to being nominated. Amanda says they feel Jen and Ryan have an advantage. Ryan hugs Jen saying he is sorry it had to go down like that.
In the Diary Room (DR) Jen says one of them is probably going home. Parker in the DR calls Jen an idiot and is unhappy to have been paired up with her. Ryan isn’t sure if Jen will trust him.
Jen in the DR says she has to look out for herself and has to be selfish. Jen and Parker agree they have to win POV.
Amanda - Parker - they embrace and Amanda apologizes for nominating him but she had to because of Jen. Amanda says she genuinely likes Parker (and it is implied it is more than a friendship kinda like).
AHA - here goes the big switch. Joshua reveals that Neil had to leave the house due to a personal thing (he is ok - he has since posted on myspace) and so Joshua must choose either Jacob or Sharon to return.
Since Jacob was not well liked in the house, Joshua picks Sharon. She is excited to be back.
Sharon finds out that Jen and Ryan were dating. Shanon is mad that Jen didn’t tell he that when she told Jen about Jacob being her ‘ex.’
Joshua and Sharon talk strategy, they promise to work together and not make deals between each other’s back.
Amanda and Alex - Amanda wants a back rub and in the DR says that Alex has been mean to her. Parker volunteers so we see him rubbing her back and legs. Alex peeks in and it is apparent that he isn’t real happy. In the DR Adam says that it is obvious they have the hots for each other. Alex comes back by and announces he is going to bed - he is not pleased with Amanda.
–COMMERCIAL–
Ryan and Jen - all hot and bothered with each other. Have sex in the lavatory. Parker hears them and comments. CBS doesn’t show us the camera in the bathroom. The were laughing when they came out and it was made a very humorous situation by the show.
Allison and Shelia continue the lesbian lie that they have told to Joshua and Chelsia. Chelsia fills in James. James falls for it hook line and sinker and he starts looking for clues in the house. He sees a puzzle in the guinea pig cage and from that he thinks there must be four couples since he thinks he knows of three.
James expresses his suspicions of more couples to Alex and he then thinks maybe Amanda and Parker might be a couple.
Alex tells Jen and Matt about his suspicions and they in turn tell Amanda. Amanda confronts Alex about that, saying she swore on a bible. Alex tells Amanda that James made him think that (hmmm - doesn’t seem like that is exactly how it happened). Amanda runs to Parker and tells him what Alex said, saying that James told Alex (I’m getting dizzy). Parker goes back to Alex and Alex clarifies things saying that James never said anything, he just said there were more couples.
Parker still goes outside and confronts James - words get heated and James and Parker start yelling at each other - Alex comes out and re-clarifies that James did not mention names. Things cool down but Amanda is not happy with Alex and Parker is obviously upset.
–COMMERCIAL–
More Alex/Amanda…. they have a long heart to heart where Alex bawls Amanda out for some of her actions, Amanda cries. Alex reports in the DR that clearly Amanda isn’t a match for him.
The extra couple for the Power of Veto is picked. Natalie and Matt are selected. Others playing are the nominated couples and the HoH couple. Joshua is picked to host.
Matt and Parker talk about the POV - Matt asks Parker if he should use it if he won it - he tells Parker he will but in the DR he says he was just saying it to keep Parker quiet.
POV competition time.
One person from each couple must lay on a revolving heart and hold onto a button. The other person will spin their partner. First couple to reach 300 spins without letting go of the button wins.
Allsion lets go and is eliminated. Later on Amanda lets go and is eliminated - she reveals in the DR that she let go on purpose.
Matt and Natalie end up winning - and I got dizzy just watching.
–COMMERCIAL–
Matt talks to Parker - Parker wants to be taken off, Matt says he thinks Parker is safe either way, but he has to speak to Natalie.
Alex suggests that he and Amanda not be physical with anyone else while they are partners. Amanda says she is mad and leaves the HoH room. Alex can’t understand why she is mad at him for being honest. Amanda talks to Chelsia and complains that Alex is making her life difficult because she is attracted to Parker.
Parker comes into the kitchen where Amanda and Chelsia are and Amanda tells Parker the same thing. Parker said Alex will be ‘gunning for me’ so he really wants Matt to use the POV to save him and Jen.
–COMMERCIAL–
POV Ceremony Time…… Natalie says they are going to do what is best for them. Matt says if Parker was not paired with Jen it would be a no brainer - but he is.
HGs called to the ceremony.
Matt explains that if he and Natalie cannot agree - then the POV is not used.
Both couples speak their peace.
Matt does the ‘we are respecting the decision of the HoH’s and not using the POV’ argument. They don’t use it.
Show ends and we hear Parker saying that the game blows and he doesn’t care. Jen and Ryan both want to stay - we don’t hear from Allison.
Show ends with a tease fro tomorrow’s live show.
