Big Brother 9 Episode #8 Recap
February 27th, 2008
Show begins with a recap of the last week (see - it hasn’t started yet in reality - but I KNOW!!). It will end with Joshua and Sharon NOT using the POV. Who will be evicted tonight? Alex and Amanda or Matt and Natalie? (I KNOW I KNOW!!).
Opening Credits
Julie greets us and re-recaps the weeks events. Today is Day 21. Julie points out that James and Chelsia went back on their word to Matt. One of the couple is going home…. BUT FIRST!!!
POV meeting ends…..
In the Diary Room (DR) Joshua explains that the alliance between Matt and Alex needs to be broken up. Alex says he won’t campaign. Matt says he will do what he has to to stay.
Morning after the doctor visit. Amanda was told to eat five times that day. Natalie talks to and hugs Amanda.
Its a rainy day - Matt talks to Adam about staying. Adam seems to be totally for it and wants to go to the final two with Matt (he is a lock to keep Matt).
Matt works out with Natalie - Allison says she thinks it is the perfect opportunity to get them out the door. In the Head of Household room we see Allison indicate that Matt and Natalie might be stronger since they are not on slop so they should go. Adam supports keeping Matt and Natalie. James seems all for it.
Matt and Natalie talk. Matt tells Natalie to go talk to Sharon and make promises so they keep them in the house. Natalie says to Joshua that she promises if they save her they will never go up.
Now Ryan goes to Allison and says he would trust Matt and Natalie more than Alex and Amanda. Ryan seems to be pushing to get Alex and Amanda out. (This is interesting because I felt that Natalie was the one masterminding and pushing for the voting out of Alex and Amanda)
Adam and Shelia discuss the voting in the DR - who knows - these are always slanted to keep you guessing.
–COMMERCIAL–
Julie talks to the HGs - asks Amanda how the illness affected her relationship. Amanda said everyone has gotten closer.
Shelia says things are fine between her and Allison now. She feels Allison’s emergency scared her and she was worried she might not return.
James thought Amanda might die and was going to give her CPR. Julie congratulated him for staying calm.
Alex was very happy that Amanda returned.
On to the lack of cups and hot water (hot water was only off for 66 hours or so and cups were back this morning). Matt says they are handling it (ummm EVERYTHING IS BACK!!! ughhh) .
Shelia says the slop diet is the best diet she has ever been on - she has lost 5 pounds and it tastes terrible.
Joshua and Sharon discuss why both couples should go - again - no clue which way they will vote.
–COMMERCIAL–
James and Chelsia relationship.
They impy James has biked all over the world - but so far just the USA - (not revealed - he lost his passport so couldn’t leave the USA yet - lol).
They show the bar that James hangs out at in LA.
Chelsia’s friend talks about her and says she thinks James is a cool guy. She hopes they win it.
Julie talks to them in the HoH bedroom.
James didn’t think he would win HoH so he had madea promise to Matt. He had to break his word to eliminated either Matt or Alex.
Chelsia was ok with the decision.
James ‘hates’ a lot of the people in the house - he hopes to inspire people with his biking ‘around the world.’
Chelsia says she is laid back and can see why she and James have connected.
Ryan and Allison talk about why they should vote out both couples. Yadda yadda!!
–COMMERCIAL–
Live vote time - they all get to appeal to stay..
Alex/Amanda - Amanda apologizes for things she has said and feels like she hurt Alex’s chances. Alex says he wants to stay and feels like they are all family.
Matt/Natalie - Natalie says she is thankful and blessed to be in the house - but she doesn’t want to go home. Matt says he thinks they are all beautiful people - he knows it is a wicked hard decision - he will see them on the outside (if he is evicted).
Voting time -
- Shelia and Adam enter the DR - they vote to evict Amanda and Alex.
- Joshua and Sharon vote to evict Amanda and Alex.
- Allison and Ryan vote to evict Alex and Amanda
Evicted by a 3-0 vote - Alex and Amanda are told the are out.
Amanda cries - Alex hugs Matt. Everyone seems ok with each other as they all say goodbye.
After they leave we hear Matt and Natalie thank the others.
Julie talks to Alex - he says he didn’t think campaigning would have mattered. Julie says she knows Amanda was campaigning hard - Amanda says that she understood why he wasn’t. (Alex did campaign over the last 12 hours but it was too late).
Alex says that even though they had a rough time at the end they worked together.
Goodbyes - Allison and Ryan both seem happy to see them gone. Joshua apologizes to Amanda - Natalie says she will miss them - Matt says he will avenge Alex being voted out.
Teaser for the HOH comp - looks like another ‘quiz’ type competition.
–COMMERCIAL–
HOH Competition - Words of Love. Quiz about the love quotes in the house. Tell the Author of the quote and you can eliminate someone. If you are wrong - you are eliminated (Joshua and Sharon are doomed).
Women
1st Q - Sharon right - Allison eliminated.
2nd Q - Sharon right - Shelia eliminated.
3rd Q - Sharon right - Natalie eliminated.
Man
1st Q - Ryan wrong - eliminated.
2nd Q - Joshua right - Matt eliminated.
3rd Q - Joshua right - Adam eliminated
Joshua and Sharon win HOH (WOW).
–COMMERCIAL–
Josh and Sharon are very fired up - they both are excited to see pics of their families.
Matt is very happy to still be in the house.
Next Wednesday things get mixed up - the evicted couple will get some type of surprise and things will change completely (couples break up??).
