05/11/06 American Idol Shocker...  who wins now?

Time for me to chime in?  American Idol was 'shocking' last night.  Well shocking for some - not for me.  Chris was voted off the show and most of you shouldn't have been all that surprised.

Was Chris the worst singer of the four remaining people?  Nope.  Was her performance sub-par Tuesday night?  Yup.

Chris didn't sing with any passion from where I sit.  His first song was lackluster and his second song was nothing special at all.  He seemed VERY content with himself Tuesday night and it showed when he was told he was going home - he was in complete shock.
 

Katherine probably should have gone home I suppose based purely on the performances on Tuesdaynight - but she is the last remaining female and that is good for some votes. Everyone has assumed for weeks that Chris was going to be in the finals and that makes the people voting for him lazy - I thought when he was inthe bottom three a few weeks ago it would be a wake-up call and perhaps it was - but people apparently forgot very quickly. So now who will win?  I think it very well could be Taylor.  The grandmas out there probably love the guy and they are a HUGE voting block (I know my mom was dialing like crazy for previous contestants that were like Taylor).  Elliot?  I can't see him winning - he is a very good singer but in the end he won't be top dog.  Katherine?  A female won last go round and, though she may have the better voice, she is not the performer Taylor is - gotta give it to Taylor.

Hey Taylor - sing a Joe Cocker song already - I can't believe he hasn't done one yet.  Not know who Joe Cocker is?  Think of the theme song to "Wonder Years"  (A little help from my friends - a song he also sang at Woodstock).  From his first audition all I could think was the twitching Joe Cocker when I watched Taylor sing.
