I spoke with Harmonie Nation the morning after episode #3 - here is what we talked about!!
Harmonie: Probably
just like the whole experience when I left – like I wasn’t really upset
about leaving because of Jack… I was worried that it was going to be edited
that I was really upset that I was leaving because of him but I was really
upset about leaving the wrong way… but it actually didn’t and I am really
glad at what I said at the end about him being a friend. I didn’t
do anything wrong, so when I said at the end that I was just looking for
a friendship, I’m glad that came across. I really think tat I was
portrayed well – and know one has really asked me if I was happy with the
way I was portrayed.
ILoveReality: What is the funniest thing that didn’t make it to the air, that you remember happening and they didn’t show. Harmonie: In the first episode they showed a lot of bugs flocking to the light – I thought more of that was going to be shown, I woke up every night with bugs flocking to me. I actually woke up one night when there was this huge furry spiderthing on my net and I was screaming for Jack, and Jack like repeated that thing for five days because he was laughing so hard. That was the hardest thing
for me, the bugs and I think the second hardest thing was the toilet, because
to me that was the most unsanitary thing…
ILoveReality: Was it just a pit toilet or a porta-potty?
ILoveReality: In last nights show I caught the teaser for next weeks show and are some of the formerly dismissed women coming back? Harmonie: They
don’t say who they are but they are like new women, what happens with them
so they stay I don’t know. They are extremely muscular, I think what
they are is people that have done this before (been in the outback).
ILoveReality: What was your reaction to the teaser for next weeks show? Harmonie: I knew
something had to be going on, more challenges since we only started with
12 women.
ILoveReality: What did you think about Marissa not being eliminated? Harmonie: I knew
that they were going to do something, I knew that the girls would eliminate
her if they ever got the chance, she’s like the Amarosa (The Apprentice)
of the show, the “villain of the show.” Bringing her back, I mean
they are probably bringing her back to stir it up and it is probably the
smartest thing they (the producers) could do. The girls are going
to be in complete shock.
ILoveReality: Well, it will make for good TV…..
ILoveReality: So I take it for the most part there was no love lost between her (Marissa) and most of the girls? Harmonie: Yeah,
I don’t think so at all, I honestly, out of everybody, have like no problem
with her one-on-one but I mean I also was not friendly with her in a sense
of “do I want to get to know her” – because I could just see… I’m
a very good judge of character living in New York – it’s not like Courtney
who’s from Wisconsin – I mean the girl has no idea what goes on in life,
I mean I love her (Courtney), shes a good friend that came out of the show
and I speak to her but she had no idea what goes on in the world and can’t
imagine someone (Marissa) having a fault like that and me I am just a very
good judge and saw right through her and chose to interact but chose not
to be friendly with her. Is she a good person? Yeah she probably
has good in her yeah but she didn’t bother me either way.
ILoveReality: So you saw her (Marissa) in the context of the game? Harmonie: Exactly and she was completely after it and I kinda didn’t take a step back and let her do it but I was like “that’s not how I am.” Please don't take Harmonie's responses as direct quotes - I feel I have captured her meanings in each answer but there was some editing done be myself. SHe was wonderful to talk to and I really appreciate her taking the time for the interview. My thanks also to all the great people at TBS for setting up this interview!!!! |
