Reality Show Hosts Page

Show names are linked to the show's official website!!  Casting info (if any) can be found on the Casting Page.

J's

Joe Millionaire (FOX): Well……you will never see a Joe Millionaire II (oopps - I was wrong - there was the follow up "Next Joe Millonaire) - so if you missed this one, sorry :(  The producers are working, or are filming a show they feel is comparable.  For those of you tha missed it - Joe Millionaire wasn’t' a millionaire at all, that is until on the last show when the Butler handed him and his new love a check for a million.  (Web Site Gone - here is a 'production site')

Joe Schmo (SPIKE): Joe Schmo Two announced - and there will be a woman and a man who are not in on the joke.  Very cool - can't wait for it to begin.  Ralph Garman will return pretending to be a british host named "Derek Newcastle."  Apparently this time the pretend show will be based around a Bachelor/Love theme - the fake show's title will be "Last Chance for Love"  - Slated to start June 15, 2004.
Joe Schmo One: I loved this show - itwas a  fake reality show - fake in that only one person isn't in on it - all the others are actors.  The premise was a show similar to Survivor or Big Brother.  Very much worth checking out if you like the premise :)  Matt Gould was "Joe."  Ralph Garman 'hosted' the show.

Junkyard Mega-Wars (TLC): Like watching people make interesting machine outta Junk?  This show is for you.  Two teams made up of 3 friends and an "expert" each create an item and then have a contest.  Winner moves on, loser goes home. Lots of humor and fun.  Also known as Scrapheap Challenge and plain old Junkyard Wars.

K's

King of the Jungle (Animal Planet): 12 Animal experts compete to win their own television show. Casting for Season II (posted 3/6//2004)

Knock First (ABC Family): "KNOCK FIRST is a lightning fast, half-hour, do-it-yourself show where contestants transform their outdated rooms into kickin’ pads. The magic happens during a two-day, all night party with their best friends, a hip young designer and two totally handy carpenters. "  (Yes I copied it right off their page - I haven't seen it yet). Casting

L's

The Lance Chronicles: The Real Life Saga of Armstrong's Quest for Six (OLN):  13 30-minute episodes will folllow Lance Armstrong, a proffessional bike racer, as he prepares to compete in the Tour de France to possibly win a sixth title.

Last Comic Standing (NBC): A talent show for comics.  "Dat Phan" won in what seemed to be a sympathy vote more than an actual judgement of talent.   There was a bit of a stink raised by Drew Carey and others during the casting because even though they were listed as 'judges' during the preliminaries, it turns out their votes meant nothing.  Season 2 premieres 6/8/2004 - Scheduled for 14 episodes.

Last Resort (ABC Family): Temptation Island without the temptation.  Couples with "issues" work on their relationships.  Truly painful to watch at times.

The Littlest Groom (Fox):  Actually just a 2 show special but I decided to list it here.   Here is an article on the show - LINK.  Also the Fox Press Release.  Fox never had a website for the show so I created a small one with a few pictures and details on who was selected in the end.  My Littlest Groom Page.

Love Again (Fox):  Now Casting. From the press release, "divorced men and women, between the ages of 21-45, who want to love again."

M's

Mad Mad House (Sci-Fi): May win the award for the most bizzare reality show once it airs.  From the website: "Picture five people with extremely alternative lifestyles, known as "Alts," living together in a mansion where, like royalty, they rule. The Alts will invite "Joe Average" contestants to the mansion to experience their lifestyles and compete to impress them in order to win the grand prize. Of course, while in the mansion, the contestants are at the Alts' mercy, because it is the Alts who eventually decide the winner." Winner gets $100k. (Casting for season 2 has begun.).  Update 4/04 - Not sure if there will be a season II of if it is already cast - see this link for details.

Made(MTV): Teens/young adults try to do something that they would never have normally been able to do.  A guy learns opera singing, a girl learns to do stunts on a bike, another girl makes the cheerleadinngg squad, a guy makes the basketball team (get the picture?).  MTV gets folks to help these wannabees out and I don't think I have seen an episode yet where the person completely failed.

Making the Band (MTV): What was 1st a show about the making of the "boy band" O-Town is not a show about P-Diddy forming a Hip-Hop group.  To be honest I missed last season completely but have been catching up on it and I have to admit if you like shows like "Real World" you will most likely enjoy this one as well.

Manhunt (Bravo): Seems to me like this show was the male version of America's Next Top Model.

Manor House(PBS):  From the site, "PBS presents Manor House, a gripping new series which brings class to reality television. Nineteen volunteers from the modern world find that life of a grand country house in the early 20th century is plagued by all-too familiar themes: money, power and position."  My opinion, dark, and not much fun, although it is full of a lot of information about the lifestyle then.

The Mansion (TBS): "This new home remodeling series will up the ante of reality television. We will take seven supercharged competitors with amateur home renovation skills and have them live together in one dilapidated mansion for seven weeks while transforming it into a beautiful showplace - using only their own labor and know-how. In the end, one person will triumphantly walk away as the sole owner of the newly renovated ESTATE! " Casting

Married By America (FOX): Ok, lets get one thing straight, no one HAS to get married here. And as it turns out, only one couple MIGHT get married if they make it through 5 weeks of elimination rounds.  If they actually get married they get a house and some $$ if not, well ABC hopefully at least gets some ratings. (dead web site)

Meet My Folks (Mom, Dad, Aunt?) (NBC): This show is known for the "Lie Detector" - 3 or 4 singles go to stay at a house with a family where the parent choose the one who gets to go on a trip with their son or daughter.  Its amazing how the contestants always seem to lie.  Btw, turns out that they actually administer 2 tests and combine the facial expressions from the first test with the 'results' from the second. (Casting)

Merge (Lifetime): A newly married couple heads off on a honeymoon and their house is re-decorated while they are away. Hosted by Lisa Rinna. (Casting)

The Missy Elliott Project (UPN): From the official page, "a new dramality series that will send thirteen aspiring performers coast-to-coast on tour with Grammy Award-winning artist Missy Elliott, where they will live together on the road in a tour bus and compete against each other for the opportunity to become the next big hip-hop star."

The Mole (ABC): Alas, the original host of this show has moved on to bigger and better(?) things.  A group of people work together to add money to a cash pot only one can win.  But one of these folks is actually a "mole" paid by the producers to screw things up.  At the end of each show the contestants answer a series of questions about the mole's identity and the person that is the farthest off the mark is eliminated.  An original!  Celebrity Mole - same concept with celebrities.  Season two began January 7th 2004.  Cast members for the second celebrity season are: Ananda Lewis, Mark Curry, Angie Everhart, Tracy Gold, Keisha Knight-Pulliam and Dennis Rodman along with returning celebs  Stephen Baldwin and Corbin BernsenSeason One Available on DVD.

Monster Garage (DSC): Jesse James (yes he is a distant relative of the famous Jesse James) builds an outrageous vehicle each week along with a group of folks who "win"  a nice lil prize if they are successful.

Monster House (DSC): Steve Watson and crew revamp part of a house to match a theme - think of Moster Garage for the home (makes sense huh?).  This show was on long before Extreme Makeover: Home Edition which in some ways is a copy-cat show.

Mr Personality (FOX): A woman picks a guy without ever seeing his face.  Monica Lewinsky (you know THAT Monica) hosts and enjoys dishing the dirt with the woman as they watch tapes of the guys acting like idiots.  At least for the 1st run most don't seem to be taking the whole thing too seriously.  I found the whole show rather lame. (dead web page)

My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss (FOX): Completely unrelated to My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance except the players are not aware that the whole game is a con.  This show was based on a rip off of The Apprentice except the billionaire boss was an actor.  Cancelled after 5 episodes it appears FOX will make the remaining episodes available online (for a price) in the near future (updated Feb, 2005).

My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance (FOX): A double wammy of twists on this show which will span 6 episodes and might win the bride (Randi) a million dollars if she gets married to the beefy groom (Steve).  Randi knows that its a "Reality" show - but her family doesn't.  What Randi doesn't know is that Steve's family is a bunch of actors (she thinks they are for real).  Sounds a bit like "Average Joe" where a lot of folks are in on the joke.  In the end everyone was ok - even though the final episode had some very upset folks.  Randi got $500k and so did her family.

My Life is a Sitcom (ABC - Family):  The 1st go round families competed against each other to have a sitcom based on them - I never saw the finale but I think they did a one show sitcom on the winning family.  This time (March 2004) they have taken one of the guys that didn't win (Joe Mozian) and "the show will focus on Joe and his search for real people to play his family on a sitcom based on his life."
