From the Press Release:  After years of floating aimlessly and being thrown life’s crumbs, a gaggle of self- proclaimed “ugly ducklings” will swim upstream to be transformed into a bevy of graceful beauties. THE SWAN, the new series that turns a fantasy into reality by mirroring the classic fairy tale, premieres Wednesday, April 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), and makes its time period premiere on Monday, April 12 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

The groundbreaking series will turn 17 average-looking women into drop-dead-gorgeous beauties. Contestants will be given access to every possible resource to bring about these radical transformations: plastic surgeons, a cosmetic and reconstructive dentist, a trainer, a nutritional plan, therapy and life coaching.

Two women will be featured in each episode, but only the most beautiful and transformed one will be selected to compete in the Swan Pageant and further her chances of being crowned “The Swan.” The series promises to be especially dramatic because the contestants will not be permitted to see themselves in a mirror during the three-month transformation process.

The series will culminate in the selection of “The Swan” in a dazzling, suspense-filled pageant on the two-hour season finale airing on Monday, May 24 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Hosting THE SWAN is Amanda Byram, best known in the United States as the host of last summer’s FOX series, “Paradise Hotel.” The Irish native hosted “Miss World” in 2003 and is well known in the UK as a guest host on “Liquid News” and host of “The Big Breakfast,” “Hot TV” and “Ireland A.M.”

The finalist's speak - this is a new video and is 4 minutes long.  I liked it  because you get to see the ladies looking NORMAL!!!  They all look pretty darn good on this clip and most seem to have a very positive attitude - none are taking the "Pageant" aspect too seriously - check it out.
